Bulldog B.E.S.T.
Positive Behavior Support at Aviation Elementary
We are fortunate to have a full time counselor, Mrs. Gutierrez, who has positively impacted our Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program in providing new supports to our overall school-wide behavior plan. The Positive Behavior Support Plan is used to promote the positive character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Students engage in a combination of activities to promote friendship and social interaction.
Our Bulldog B.E.S.T. includes:
- Be responsible!
- Effort all the way!
- Safety first!
- Treat all with respect!
Aviation Elementary's counselor has added music and board games to our Friendship Square and
coordinates social skills groups such as Bulldog Buddies, which reinforce positive approaches to solving problems. A Bulldog store has been added to support students who are following rules and further rewards their efforts. Students can cash in reward B.E.S.T. (B=Being Responsible, E= Effort all the Way, S= Safety First, and T= Treat all with Respect) slips at the Bulldog store for incentives and are recognized for the positive behavior during weekly assemblies.
